Q: How do we start working together?
A: Reach out via the contact form or WhatsApp with a short description of your business and what you need. We'll schedule a short call to understand your situation and confirm scope and pricing before any work begins.
Q: Do you work with companies that don't yet have a Latvian entity?
A: Yes. We regularly support businesses that are in the process of registering a company in Latvia, and can advise on the financial and structural side of setting up.
Q: How long does it take to set up accounting from scratch?
A: It depends on the complexity of your business, but a typical setup — chart of accounts, bookkeeping process, and initial compliance registrations — usually takes between one and three weeks.
Q: What languages do you work in?
A: We work in English, Russian, and Latvian, both for day-to-day communication and for the documents and reports we prepare.
Q: Do you work with IT and fintech companies?
A: While we have particular depth in IT, fintech, and e-commerce/marketplace accounting, our client portfolio spans many industries, including logistics, manufacturing, retail, and real estate.
Q: Can you take over accounting that was poorly maintained?
A: Yes - this is one of our most common engagements. We review the existing records, identify and file any overdue reports, and rebuild the bookkeeping system so it's accurate and compliant going forward.
Q: Do you provide IFRS reporting, or only Latvian GAAP?
A: We prepare statutory reporting under Latvian standards, and can also prepare IFRS-aligned reporting where required by investors, parent companies, or group policy.
Q: Can you help with companies selling on Amazon or other marketplaces?
A: Yes. We have specific experience reconciling settlement reports, handling multi-currency conversion, and classifying sales under the correct VAT regime (OSS, domestic VAT, or VOEC) across multiple marketplaces and countries.
Q: How is pricing determined?
A: Pricing depends on the size and complexity of your business, the number of jurisdictions or tax regimes involved, and (for payroll) the number of employees. We confirm exact pricing after understanding your specific situation.
Q: Is there a minimum contract length?
A: We typically work on an ongoing monthly basis without long lock-in periods, though specific terms are agreed individually depending on the scope of work.
Q: Can we start with a smaller scope and expand later?
A: Yes. Many clients start with core bookkeeping and tax compliance, then add payroll, CFO advisory, or multi-jurisdiction support as their business grows.
Q: Are you licensed to provide accounting services in Latvia?
A: Yes. GEA Consulting holds the official license required to provide outsourced accounting services in Latvia under the Law on Accounting.

A: All client information is treated as strictly confidential. We do not disclose client identities or financial details in any public materials, including case studies, without explicit prior consent.
